if there ever was a reason for gillian to have a child, this child would be it.
much like mine, there are so many rubbish blogs out there [case and point http://www.daisypit.net/blog/ ], few rarely make it into my rss and i'm by no way a tough crowd, a little judgey-wudgey-was-a-bear at times, but nonetheless, easily amused.
and then there's tavi, 13 year old guru, i actually can't understand how she has such a grasp on all this fash-on. her observations are not only completely apt, but posted way before any others are. i know she's taught me a hella-lot. so check her out, oh AND she's on the front cover of the nextPOP magazine. a*mazing. What was i doing when i was 13? Stealing stale chicos, strawberries'n'creams, caramel mates and bananas from the pick'n'mix section at my local milk bar. fo'shame ten toes.
her video diary is killer as well...she makes ABBA sexy...am i going to far with this?

she's darn special this one www.yingangphoto.com/

I die!
one day, caroline and i decided to hitch-hike our way home. along our travels we stumbled across a 'spiritual' commune just 20 mins out of olympos. the entire landscape was filled with treehouses, where each guru and guest lived. in 5 days they were hosting some 3 day long rave...
Modeling Universe, shot in 1976. Saw this in London at Barbican. The video shows Buckminster Fuller speaking about the way his invention came about. His passion is evident, potent, and despite the out-dated footage, almost intoxicating. The video shows the multifarious shapes in nature and Buckminster Fuller’s determination to imitate them mathematically. But first a little something something, nice and fitting, from Radiohead...

saw this publication in berlin,
the current issue is one whole tilda swinton interview, on a variety of subjects, with the centrefold holding 4 or 5 images which she took personally. really nice and simple. i especially enjoyed how the images had no staples in them, fit for framing or blu tacking to your wall. nice!
absolutely kicking myself for not buying it at the time.

Life is easy by Benny Zadik

Life is easy. One day, with no effort on your part, you wake up in the arms of your mother and father. One-third of the time you spend sleeping. Another third you spend making plans for the weekend. That leaves only a little time that you actually have to do anything.

Life is easy. There are signs helping you everywhere you go: SLOW, STOP, CAUTION, WARNING, DANGER, EMERGENCY EXIT. How could you possibly run into trouble?

Life is easy. If you’re lost, you can ask for directions. Once you have directions, you can make a map. Then you can help anyone else who might be lost as well. And if you keep walking forwards, eventually you’ll come right back to where you started.

Love is easy. There are over 6 billion people in this world to choose from. You only have to find one. Try kissing. Try hugging. Try having sex on the beach. All of this is very, very easy.

Your job is easy. Your boss needs you. He gives you money to babysit him for 40 hours a week. He buys you lunch sometimes. You get promoted, or else you find a new job. Someone new takes you to lunch. Then you retire. The government sends you money just so that you can stay at home. You have all the time in the world.

Even death is easy. You don’t have to do anything at all, or even schedule an appointment.  When the time comes, you sit back, relax, you drift off into a dream. Your breathing slows, your heart eases. You think about what a wonderful life you’ve just had. And how easy it all was.
