I'm currently working with the american photography collectives
MJR and
LUCEO, to produce a small-run, large format photography publication.
Working with all 13 documentary photographers, each focusing on a plethora of different subject matter, the curation process has been tricky and nearly painful --there's simply a huge amount of dynamic talent, but only 50 or so pages to present it in!
The presently untitled publication will be released on the evening of the collectives' first joint exhibition, to be held at
25CPW gallery situated just adjacent to Central Park.
But back to the work. On Thanksgiving,
Ying Ang (of MJR) and i set up camp on her living room floor, armed with over 300 images to choose from. Again, I can't express the broad and often contrasting talent bouncing between these two collectives.
It's all still very much a work in progress. But here's a taste of some of the photographers' work. These all hail from MJR.
